TokyoMilk Dark No. 62 Tainted Love Tempting Trio

One of my recent Sephora orders included this incredibly priced set from TokyoMilk Dark. I have tried a few of the solid perfumes from the regular line but this was my first foray into TokyoMilk Dark. For $16, this set includes a Salted Caramel Lip Elixir (normally $7), a mini rollerball of the No. 62 Tainted Love Eau de Parfum and a mini 0.75 fl. oz. hand cream in No. 62 Tainted Love (priced at $9).

No. 62 Tainted Love EdP smells fantastic. It's vanilla heavy with a faint whiff of tobacco (even Morgan caught that, to my surprise) but kept clean with the faintest breeze of clean white tea and sandalwood. The best part for me underlying orchid. Something about this is mildly sinister, heady but not heavy. I especially like that it's not a tasty gourmand vanilla. The EdP was decently long lasting, about seven hours. Given that I live in a dry climate and it's "winter" (California winter, that is), the sillage wasn't as great as it could have been. I'll have to wear it again in the summer to unleash it's full potential.

The hand cream compliments the EdP very well, I think a touch sweeter. The creme is also very moisturizing, I definitely love it more than L'Occitane or the Caudalie hand creams. It's very heavily scented though, so the smallest dab really carries the fragrance well. As to not overwhelm myself, I mix it half and half with an unscented hand lotion.

No. 36 Salted Caramel Lip Elixir. This tin is huge! It's .70 oz., with a diameter of two inches. The balm definitely smells like salted caramel. It's a bit sickly sweet for me, but once I apply it the scent seems to dissipate a bit. While it does soften my lips, it doesn't feel very different from straight up petroleum jelly (indeed, the top ingredient is petroleum). I guess the best way of describing it is that it softens but doesn't impart much moisture.

I loved this trio! It's a great way to try out TokyoMilk Dark. While the Lip Elixir hasn't become my new favorite lip balm, it's still large and handy to have. The hand cream and rollerball of No. 62 were fantastic and definitely have me looking forward to my next TokyoMilk Dark experience.
