Pat McGrath Labs Lip Fetish

Monday, July 27, 2020

Hey, I'm not certain what direction this blog is going to go from here on out. I like beauty, but I don't want to forget BIPOC owned brands and small businesses, so moving forward I think I want to try to focus on these companies.

One of my favorite high end brands is Pat McGrath Labs. I was very interested in trying Mother's Lip Fetish Lip Balm and had the chance a few months ago when Sephora had a Gimme Some Balm Favorites kit and I had a code to use. It contained a full sized Lip Fetish, and the whole set was the same price as one (less in my case, discounted). Then there was some more sales on the PML website and I was able to pick up Lip Fetish in Noir and the mini trio for 40 and 50 percent off. The sale is still ongoing.

Black Lives Matter: Discussion and Resources

Wednesday, June 10, 2020
Good morning to you all!

I wanted to deviate a bit from the normal style of posts to talk about racism and share some resources with you that might be a bit different than the petitions and donation websites that have gained traction over the last few weeks. Those bail out funds and collectives are important, but I wanted to highlight some other avenues of allyship that may have not caught your attention.

50 Words or Less: Things I've Been Enjoying Recently

Monday, May 11, 2020

So these are unusual times, I think it would be an egregious move to pretend that things are fine and dandy when they're not. COVID-19 is claiming the lives of people all around the world, small businesses are taking huge hits, and plenty of folks are dealing with furlough or being laid off altogether.

Part of me feels like talking about beauty is the most frivolous, totally out of touch. Another part of me wants to push forward, because letting go of interests and passions feels like conceding. I don't quite know how to reconcile those two sides, so I'm gonna to continue to post but also acknowledge what's going on right now and the difficulties people are facing. For the time being, that feels somewhat acceptable.

Today's post is a collection of items I've been using, some of these things for as long as eight months. I'll keep it brief.

Review: Pat McGrath Labs Decadence MOTHERSHIP

Monday, May 4, 2020

In December of last year, I managed to get my hands on a palette that I had been coveting for months and months. About once a week I would take a peep at the Pat McGrath website, hoping to see the Decadence MOTHERSHIP in stock, courting disappointment every time. When Mother announced a collaboration with Star Wars that included a re-promote of Decadence in shiny Star Wars gold packaging, I set my alarm and was pleased as punch that I managed to check out successfully.

Armani Power Fabric Concealer

Monday, March 16, 2020

Hello! Like many of you out there, I'm going to be spending more time than usual at home in the weeks to come so I decided it was time to dust off the blog and get back into the groove of posting, hopefully with greater regularity. Today I want to talk about the Armani Power Fabric Concealer that I bought in early February.

Brand Overview: Energy Brushes

Monday, February 17, 2020

Energy is another brand of Chinese brushes that I really enjoy. I've had the pleasure of accumulating quite a few over the last four years and it is high time that I did a brand overview. Like the brand ShouShouLang, not too many English reviews are out there. This is both understandable and lamentable, I think the word needs to get out about how some of these brushes are the absolute bees' knees.

Review: Amika Reset Products

Tuesday, February 11, 2020

Last summer I tried out a mini set of Amika products, I want to say it was a GWP Sephora code that offered a deluxe duo of Amika Reset Pink Charcoal Scalp Cleansing Oil and Exfoliating Jelly Shampoo. I liked them so much that I ended up buying the full sized products.

Happy 2020!

My first post this year is a shorter one. Just some items I like.
