EOTD: NARS Outremer

Thursday, June 26, 2014

Oh, NARS Outremer. Probably one of my favorite blue eye shadows. It's matte, it's bold, it's blue.

And yet somewhat tricky to use.
Here you can see it in pan form, in the NARS New Wave Palette that I bought a couple years back. Sorry the pans aren't pristine, but hey - there's proof that I use this palette.

The thing about Outremer is that while it looks lovely and the perfect cobalt blue in pan, it doesn't translate as perfectly on my skin. Here I've swatched it over no primer, primer and a white base (NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk). Over just primer, it really pulls the yellow frommy skin and ends up looking a bit faded and cerulean in color. Over a white base, the color is much more true but it is darker and a bit more somber looking than it does in the pan.

I just went for an exaggerated colored wing, which is really great if you have hooded eyes; the blue just pops.

I used:
Brows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder duo in Granite
Eyes: LORAC Behind The Scenes Eye Primer, NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk, NARS Outremer, NARS Pandora, NARS Fez, NARS All About Eve, Andrea Lashes #45

Do you have an eyeshadow that looks amazing in pan but somehow changes a bit once you've actually applied it on your skin?
