Twister Manicure

Thursday, March 8, 2012

I realized after finishing this manicure that I had used colors like from the game Twister.

I used: Zoya Sooki, Pure Ice French Kiss, Color Club Almost Famous and a white franken.

It's a super easy mani. Paint your nails white, tape off the french edge with tape. Place four dots of red on each nail, then four dots of green, then yellow, then blue (or what ever order you choose) then start the cycle all over again. It looks better if you do cycles instead of trying to do all the red dots all at once, because the overlap looks more natural, it doesn't look like a certain color was painted on first.

However, I had no intention of making a Twister mani when I started.

Here's the real inspiration for the manicure.
It's an animated video from a Onyxia wipe, from when a raid leader became all sorts of angry. A World of Warcraft reference. MORE DOTS! MORE DOTS! This probably makes no sense what so ever if you've never played.

Ok, sotp dots.

My Daily Lazy EOTD

Tuesday, March 6, 2012
I post a lot of vivid looks on this blog... but I'll be honest. Most of the time I am lazier than you can imagine in the morning. This is my default look.

Brows: NARS Bali
Eyes: LORAC Behind The Scenes Primer, Milani Icy Plum, NARS Violetta, NARS All About Eve duo, Physician's Formula black gel liner (from Green Eyes trio), Kiss Me Heroine Make Volume + Curl.

Do you have a look that you use most of the time, or revert back to when you're rushed in the mornings and not feeling creative? What products are used?

Glitter Gal Sunday: Marine Blue

Sunday, March 4, 2012

Happy Sunday, It's Glitter Gal time!
Today's Glitter Gal is called Marine Blue. You guessed it- it's blue.

As you can see, Marine Blue has a frosty blue base, very bright. This is three coats and though it certainly is something to behold, it's not quite as holo as other Glitter Gal holos. I have a hypothesis on that. I swear I'll present it when I'm done compiling the watches.

The frosty thing just isn't quite 'me'. And neither is this shade of blue, it gives me bad Drew Carey flashbacks, a la Mimi's frosty blue shadow.

What do you think? How do you feel about frosty blue?

China Glaze Colors From the Capitol: Smoke and Ashes

Friday, March 2, 2012

This was the other polish from the China Glaze Hunger Games collection that I really wanted. Smoke and Ashes, an inky blue-black that contains flecks that shift from green to blue.
Edit: As I was inspecting my bottle last night, I noticed that most of the flecks had sunk to the bottom of the bottle. Keep this in mind, it might require you to roll the bottle around a bit if you want even dispersion of the flecks.

Of course, the flecks were impossible to capture. I urge you to check this polish out in person so that you know what I mean.

I like it. I think it'd be a great base for galaxy nails or layered with CND effects.

What do you think? Is it interesting enough that you'd want a bottle? Or do you have something similar?

EOTD Fyrinnae Book of the Dead

Thursday, March 1, 2012

I'm making an effort to use all my Fyr shadows that have been sitting untouched. Today I used Book of the Dead, which is really quite a nice color. What separates this gold from other similar shades is that it has a certain kind of softness to it, as well as a hint of a dark cast.

Pictures are not idea. My camera's flash crapped out and I'm terribleterribleterrible at color adjusting.

Brows: NARS Bali shadow, NYX Brow Shaper
Eyes: LORAC Behind the Scenes Eye Primer, Fyrinnae Book of the Dead, Fyrinnae Steampunk shadow, Prestige Total Intensity liner in Deepest Black, Kiss Me Heroine Make Volume + Curl lashes,  ES A880 false lashes*.

I'm wearing lashes from KKCenterHK, and I hope that I'll have a proper review for you soon!
