Burberry Light Glow Blush in Earthy 07

Sunday, October 15, 2017

I've made a serious dip in my Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder pan in The Contour Duo (review here) and wanted to get another contour for at home use. I like to save the lightweight KA duo for trips. What I ended up getting was the Burberry Light Glow Blush in Earthy, a light tan blush.

This is my first Burberry blush. I'm not crazy about the floral scent. It's stronger and it lingers for longer than I'd like. I like magnetic makeup openings but I fumbled with this container every time I wanted to use it, it's not a smooth motion.

It was too bad I had to mess up the hatchmarks, the imprint is really quite pretty. My favorite brushes to use this contour shade with include the Energy J101 (above photo, left) and the Hakuhodo 210 (above photo, right). I use a motion that is almost circular, almost buffing, so the little included brush is not much of use to me.

Swatches and comparisons. Left to right: Chanel Notorious JC, Kevyn Aucoin The Sculpting Powder in Medium, Burberry Earthy and 4U2 Celebrity Shade and Highlight

There's two contour shades now in the Light Glow line. There's 11 Dark Earthy which was included as a mini in the last Burberry Beauty Box. I ended up returning that untouched as I was expecting a Pale Barley eye shadow (it was listed as having such). Dark Eathy looks to be much cooler than Earthy, worth taking at look at if you find 07 to be too orange.

What I do like is how absolutely soft and smooth the powder is. It's not super pigmented, but the silkiness makes it a very pleasant application. The finish is very matte, it wore decently for 6 hours but had faded by hour 8. It absorbs oil really well, blends easily and is quite forgiving, even with a heavy hand.

I'm wearing Earthy under my cheekbones and on the sides of my nose.

Burberry Light Glow blushes are $42 each for 7 grams of product. They can be purchased at Sephora, Nordstrom, and directly from Burberry

Have you tried any Burberry blushes? Are you using anything for contour these days?
