Colourpop All Nighter Super Shock Shadow Set

Wednesday, December 27, 2017

Quick post today, I just wanted to share swatches of a Colourpop shadow set I had ordered recently. 20% and free shipping did me in.

The All Nighter Super Shock set contains (left to right): Mooning, TO-A-T, Smash, Vega.

I feel like the swatches on the Colourpop website make the colors look overall cooler than they actually are. I was hoping for less camel, more neutral tan in TO-A-T. Smash is my unexpected favorite of the four, it's an understated beige satin with a gold sheen. Mooning is described as 'blackened plum' on the website, but it's firmly brown to my eye. It does contain purple glitter, but it's definitely in a brownie base. Vega is the eye catching shade of the four, a dingy champagne with violet holographic and dark gold glitter.

I haven't ordered Colourpop in quite some time, but the SS formula was just as I remembered it to be; a squishy powder/cream hybrid that has good staying powder. The only downside is that even though I keep them screwed tight, they do dry out after two - three years. My traditional powder eye shadows last many times longer.

Here I've used Smash all over the lid, Mooning as eyeliner. TO-A-T warms up the corners and Vega is lightly pressed on the mobile eyelid.

They're good looking colors, I'm just surprised at how warm the four colors look on me. Not quite what I'm looking for, even though they are a delightful mix of finishes. I will however be reaching for Smash over and over again, this is a really great daily eyeshadow that I hope to get a lot of mileage out of before it dries out.

The Colourpop All Nighter foursome is $14.40. Super Shock Shadows are regularly $5 each.
