Le Chat Our Secret Eden + Perfect Match Mood Gel Polishes

Tuesday, August 6, 2013
Hi folks!

So while I was at CosmoProf North America, I stopped at the LeChat booth to check out all the interesting new products that they have to offer. Unfortunately, I was so excited that I forgot to take pictures (rather embarrassing, to be honest) but luckily Melissa of The Daily Nail came to my rescue and kindly let me use her pics.

So I wanted to show you some of the really beautiful Perfect Match Mood Gel Polishes. In each Perfect Match set, you get a bottle of long wearing soak off gel and a bottle of polish to match. Thermal gels and polishes!

In the following swatches, the end closer to the handle of the stick is the cold side, the free edge on the left has been warmed up with friction.

Stunning colors right? The following shades are just in their cold state.

How beautiful are these colors? Scarlet Stars is especially alluring to me! Cherry Blossom and Moonlit Eclipse are also my favorites, the transition is just really prominent and dazzling.

You know what the kind folks at LeChat sent me a week after CosmoProf North America? One of my most sought after lemmings- LeChat Our Secret Eden!

You have no idea how long I've wanted this polish. It's an absolutely beautiful blurple with very prominent pinky-fuschia shimmer. I couldn't find it for the longest time, and it feels so great to finally get it on my nails! Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. This is without a doubt, easily one of my most favorite shades of all time. (Thank you so, so much LeChat!)

What do you think of these LeChat Perfect Match shades? Which are your favorite?

Product featured in this post was sent to me as a press sample. For additional information, please refer to my Disclosure Policy.

CosmoProf North America 2013 Recap, Part III

Sunday, July 21, 2013
Hi folks! Tonight I'm finishing up the official recap of CosmoProf North America 2013, though tomorrow I'll have a post dedicated to various blogger, indie and etailer meetups /drinks.

Check out the new stuff NYX is going to be releasing soon. The circular eye shadows in the black packaging have various finishes. The brown palettes in the back have baked shadows.

The clear packaged shadows are MATTE! Also, they are supposed to be very intense in pigmentation.

Due to the success of the Butter Lip Glosses, NYX will have Butter Lip Balms launching soon! Also be on the lookout for Butter Lipsticks (not pictured).

NYX is also expanding their Powder Blush line, augmenting the range with fun new shades including colors that will really show up and look beautiful on darker skin tones.

Check out these Royal & Langnickel brushes. Though they are synthetic, each "hair" is etched so that they grab and apply product the same way natural hairs do. Innovative, right?

Color Club and Ruby Wing have A LOT going on this year. Check out the Cupcakes & Champagne Collection by Ruby Wing.

Ruby Wing polishes are UV changing, just look at the difference! These are two stages of the same polish.

Here's another change for you. Indoors (left) and UV exposed (right).

Color Club's Girl About Town Collection is fabulous, a mixture of different finishes including a flaked polish!

Check out the shade, "The Uptown". Rainbow flakes in a purple jelly base.

Harlem Nights is the winter collection. Also a fun mix of shades and finishes.

Last but not least, this four polish set is full of jelly toppers with pretty opalescent flakes.

I stopped by Royal Apothic to sniff their lovely products and snap pics of their insanely beautiful packaging.

Impala, the Brazilian polish brand is available in the US now! I'll have swatches of some of the Impalas they generously sent me home soon.

I haven't tried bhcosmetics yet, but looking at their new palettes made my eyes pop out. Such pretty vibrant shades! These new palettes will be available very soon.

Swoon is a new, brilliant product. Designed to be both an applicator and a scoop that will get that remaining product out of your nearly empty lipgloss. After all, if you buy a Dior gloss - you want to get every last bit right?
Serenity + Scott is a new makeup line based out of Asheville, NC. They were all so friendly! For some reason my images of their makeup became corrupted on my camera, so I don't have them to show you. Their line is very makeup artist friendly as well as great for any makeup lover. You can spot some of their lipsticks and powder compacts in the background- they had beautiful sleek white packaging.

That's all for today! I hope you've enjoyed this first look at upcoming products and collections. What really got your attention?

CosmoProf North American 2013 Recap, Part II

Saturday, July 20, 2013
Good evening! Tonight's post is part II of my CosmoProf North America recap. Let's start off with a bang, shall we? The China Glaze booth was incredibly crowded because everyone was buzzing about the unveiling of Geláze, the new line of gel polishes!
China Glaze has taken 36 very popular shades and created their own gel system, complete with different gel bases for various types of nails, prep and removal products and an LED light.
A smaller consumer size will be available at Sally Beauty Supply as soon as August. Thrilling right? I am so bad at changing pedicure colors, now I'll be able to have Flip Flop Fantasy on my toes for weeks at a time.

Here's a look at China Glaze's upcoming collection called On the Horizon. Feather glitter! Personally I'm crazy for this stuff because I happen to like bar glitter (so long as it is not the wide chunky kind). I have other pictures and information on other collections too, but can't reveal them until it gets closer to their arrival dates, stay tuned for that!
Let's talk Seche for a moment. Seche Vite is still my go-to top coat for speedy manicures and I go through bottles of it every year just swatching polishes. Recently they have expanded to include polish line and now there will be a full line of creme shades. These are all supposed to be one coaters, which I find really exciting.

The fall Seche collection is called Clever and Confident. I really like how the shades look together, I can't wait to try them to see if they really are one coaters. Wouldn't that be absolutely great for nail stampers?

One of the brands new to me was No Miss. You might have seen their products in Whole Foods or other natural food stores as their line is very geared towards healthy products. Check out this crazy big chocolate lip balm! It smells just like Tootsie Rolls, ridiculously scrumptious.

I had the pleasure and honor of meeting THE ZOYA! She is really a joy to talk to. Melissa of the Daily Nail, Katherine of Manicure Addict and I chatted with her for two hours about everything from the influence colors can have to India, Russia, China and even yoga and classical music.

It didn't happen... unless you post about it on Instagram, right? Hah!

I already swatched Zoya Fall 2013 Cashmeres yesterday, but check out those Satins.

I felt like it had been a while since Nubar popped up on my radar but they are back at it with a bunch of new collections. Above we have Wild West.
Eden might be the most exciting for me because I love the looks of those cremes. That green! That latte shade! That ORANGE!

Alter Ego, an entire collection of jellies with big opalescent glitter. How did we get so lucky? The golden one up front is really quite beautiful. Actually they all are.

That wraps it up for today! Come visit again tomorrow for the last official part of the recap and on Monday I'll have pictures of blogger/indie brand meetups.

What new collection excites you the most out of the ones I've shown you today?

CosmoProf North America Recap, Part I

Thursday, July 18, 2013
This year I was so honored and pleased to be able to attend CosmoProf North America as a member of the press. For those of you who do not know, CosmoProf NA is a trade show open to only beauty professionals and centered around distributors, OTC’s, manufacturers and buyers of professional and retail stores. It took place in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center between July 14th -16th this year. The great thing about CosmoProf NA is that it is THE event for brands to unveil upcoming products and collections and reach beauty professionals to educate them about their offerings.

I broke this recap down into many parts, sort of in order of which booths and brands I visited. I will also have separate reviews for a lot of products that you see.
I think most people have heard of Gelish, used both in salons and sold to the consumer at Sally Beauty Supply. Did you know that in addition to their many core colors, they have seasonal collections? More pictures to come soon, but check out their summer neon shades.

If you haven't heard of Morgan Taylor Professional Nail Lacquer, I guarantee you will hear a lot of buzz this year. This new brand of nail polish was created by the daughters of the founders of Gelish! The eponymous Morgan and Taylor were so very sweet, it was a pleasure to meet them and learn about the brand. Swatches will follow shortly of the 10 shades they sent home with me!

We have quite a few things to look forward to from Orly! First up, the vibrant Secret Society Collection and the sweet tones of the Surreal Collection. We also have Halloween to look forward to, as well as new Orly MATTEFX polishes! Check out the green and pink matte flakies. They are a bit hard to see since they are housed in frosted bottles.

I stopped by the NCLA booth where I met the really cool founders. The NCLA line of wraps and polishes are just plain cool. The edgy, fun vibe of LA is really imbibed in these great colors and distinct designs. You see the wraps in the aqua packaging? Those are translucent designs! Absolutely brilliant.

Hopefully you've enjoyed this first look at new products and brands from CosmoProf North America! My other installments will be along shortly, as soon as I get my pictures edited.
