KBShimmer Winter Collection

Tuesday, October 28, 2014

Good morning!

I've been working on swatches of the newest KBShimmer Winter Collection all last week and over the weekend, trying to capture how utterly glittery some of the shades are. Today, I have eight colors from that collection to show you and there's a brand new kind of glitter in one of them that is particularly interesting.

KBShimmer Fall 2014 Shades

Sunday, October 12, 2014

Good evening!

I'm a bit behind on swatches and fall collections, since I've been trying to incorporate more nail art and less straight up swatches. I hope you'll forgive me but truly, a lot of fun is taken away from polish when you become a straight up swatch monster so adding a bit of nail art here and there really makes the difference for me! Today's post contains five shades from the fall KBShimmer collection.

Review: KBShimmer Nail Vinyl Decals

Monday, July 14, 2014

Hi folks!

A few weeks ago KBShimmer launched their line of Nail Vinyls, decals made from adhesive backed vinyl that can be used for quick and easy nail art. I received a sample variety pack for review and was able to try them out. This is actually my first time using any sort of nail vinyl sticker product. I guess I just never really jumped on the chevron/zig zag trend!

Some KBShimmer Bath & Body Products

Thursday, July 10, 2014
Now I know I've posted about KBShimmer polishes before, but I haven't really said much about their bath and body products. A few weeks ago, they had a 20% sale and I used that opportunity to try out a lotion, a cuticle oil pen and a sugar scrub.

A Few KBShimmer Early Summer 2014 Holos

Thursday, May 29, 2014

Good evening! Tonight I have a few of the Summer 2014 KBShimmer shades. Summer is pretty much the perfect season to wear holos (unless you live in a sun saturated state like I do, in which case HOLOS ALL DAY, EVERY DAY). I'll be showing you three of the five holos that are now available.

Shades from KBShimmer 2013 Winter Blogger Collection

Wednesday, November 20, 2013

Good evening!

Tonight I have four more KBShimmer winter release shades to show you. Each of these shades was made in collaboration with a blogger, how neat is that?

Plum Tuckered Out. By The Pointless Cafe. This is three coats of a deep plum creme filled with beautiful glass fleck that looks blue/fuchsia. Really smooth formula.

Toast-ess With The Moastest. By Peachy Polish. This is one coat dabbed over Essie Luxedo. You might need to spread the glitter around so that the largest circles are placed exactly where you want them to be but the nice thing is that they are evenly dispersed throughout the polish, no sinking.

Snow Much Fun. By The Manicurator. Three coats, plus a bit of dabbing. A light sky blue jelly filled with snowflake glitter and various other blue and white glitter. Those with curved nails may find that the snowflakes stick out a bit. I used two coats of KBShimmer Clearly On Top to smooth them over.

Green Hex And Glam. By Kayla Shevonne. Three coats plus some dabbing. This is hands down my favorite! I absolutely adore green jellies and this just takes the cake. The shade of green is so perfect and the holo hexes are even more beautiful in person, throwing off light in all directions. Even Morgan liked this one and he 1.) doesn't like green, 2.) doesn't like glitter 3.) doesn't like polish. I had to fish out the hexes to place them but other than that, it applied really well.

All four polishes were really pretty and applied well despite being all different kinds of finishes. KBShimmer polishes are $8.75 and available here. Be sure to check out all the winter shades, the collection is extensive and there's definitely something for everyone!

Shades from KBShimmer Winter 2013

Thursday, November 14, 2013

Hi folks!

Tonight I have some really spectacular polishes to show you. I have four brand new shades from KBShimmer's winter offerings, a whooping 22 new polishes were released! The four shades you can feast your eyes on tonight are Maybe Navy, Kringle All The Way, When The Doves Sigh and Urban Camo.

Maybe Navy. Whoa! If you loved Teal Another Tail from the Fall 2013 releases, you'll love this one! This has chunky multichromatic flecks with the finest hex glitter in a blue tinted base. I've applied three coats here and it looked incredible from all different angles. I'm dying to wear this next over black!

Kringle All The Way. A clear topper with medium and large circle glitters as well as a sprinkling of holo particles. There's no doubt about it, this is one winter holiday polish for sure. The glitters stay really well suspended, despite their size. I dabbed one coat over L'oreal In the Buff.

When The Doves Sigh. This is one of my favorites from the whole collection. An opaque grey with cheery bright glitter. I used two coats and then dabbed on the bright glitter because the base can hide it a bit. I love the indigo/pink/blue color scheme!

Urban Camo. Uhm, how mind blowing is this? This is my first multichrome polish ever and it did not disappoint! I took this picture underwater to show you the whole spectrum of color this polish has to offer. Form the truest emerald green to teal, purple, pink and even gold. This is truly a beetle wing/oil spill color! I'm wearing two coats over black creme.

All four shades were topped off with KBShimmer Clearly On Top, a great fast drying topcoat.

I really loved all four of these shades. The formulas were consistently good, despite being four different kinds of polish. This is just four of the shades! You need to see what the other 18 look like, it's really a beautiful collection. I dare you to look at them all and not find a single one that you'll want to gift yourself this holiday season!

KBShimmer nail polish and body products can be found here. Polishes are $8.75 per bottle. For the latest news, be sure to check out the KBShimmer Facebook and Instagram.

KBShimmer Dancing Green

Wednesday, September 18, 2013

Hi folks!

Tonight I have a long time lemming to show you. I've had KBShimmer Dancing Green on my wishlist for what feels like years, but definitely the better half of a year at least! I was so fortunate to receive a bottle to swatch and review.
Dancing Green is a vivid green filled with fuchsia, sapphire and green glitter in dots, hexes and square glitter. I think the pictures on the KBShimmer site look to be a tad more blue and a tad bit more crelly (I promised you guys a dictionary on all these indie terms, I haven't forgotten!) than it looks on me. On my nails, it looks practically neon neutral green, more jelly finish.

Though not quite what I was expecting, I think I love it *more* this way. I love green and this is so vastly different from anything else I own. It's so squishy! I'm wearing three coats topped off with two coats of KBShimmer Clearly On Top Quick Dry Top Coat which makes it so wonderfully glossy.

Formula was good, Dancing Green spread easily with a touch of dabbing to places some of the glitter.

KBShimmer Nail Polishes are $8.75 each. The Clearly On Top Quick Dry Top Coat is only $5. Shop the KBShimmer store for delicious bath and body goods in addition to gorgeous polishes!

More KBShimmer Fall Polishes

Wednesday, September 4, 2013

... and I'm back! My internet was down for the past few days so I'm glad to be finally able to post again. Today I have two more stunning shades from KBShimmer's fall release to show you (click here to check out my earlier post with other shades). These two are just incredibly beautiful and absolutely must haves. I took a boatload of pictures because I'm just mesmerized by these shades.
Teal Another Tail is the perfect representation of a mermaid's iridescent tail. A perfect rich teal just saturated with flecks that are fuchsia/gold duochrome. There's also a hint of micro aqua holographic and purple glitter. This is so stunning, especially because the fuchsia is so prominent. It's BAM, in your face. I found that I could use three thin coats or two generous coats for the same effect.

So many flecks!

You Go Ghoul! is just perfect for fall. Reminiscent of Halloween but beautiful for every day wear any time of the year, really. It's a black that allows purple, orange, fuchsia hexes to peak through, along with micro glitter and tiny little splices of orange. Two generous coats was enough for an opaque look on the nail.

I've run out of words to describe how utterly gorgeous this polish is. All I have left to say is that you must, must have these in your collection.

KBShimmer Fall shades are now available here at the KBShimmer Store. Polishes are $8.75 each. For the latest updates and gorgeous swatches, be sure to follow the KBShimmer Facebook page as well as the Instagram account (@kbshimmer).

Do these two shades leave you as slack jawed as they have left me?
