Review: Chanel Rouge Coco Lip Blush in Orange Explosif

Monday, June 18, 2018

Good afternoon!

It's been well over a month since I blogged, things were pretty busy. Then we took a (well deserved, I might add) vacation to unwind a bit and drove all over the Scottish Highlands. Marvelous time, pics to come. On the way home I thought I'd pick up a thing or two duty free while at Heathrow. The Chanel Rouge Coco Lip Blush in Orange Explosif looked so good on Lily that I was immediately drawn to this shade for myself.

It comes in a doefooted wand. 412 Orange Explosif watches as a bright matte coral. Like the So Close Joues Contraste I wrote about earlier last year, this color leans almost neon.

Left side is sheered out, right side is a more intense swipe.

I have been wearing it as a part of a gradient lip and lightly tapped into my cheeks as blush, matchy matchy. I used a finger tip for both applications. It looks more pink-coral than orange on me, but I like it all the same. What I like about the formula is that it is very moisturizing and still manages to be all-day wearing.

I definitely prefer this formula to the last cream cheek product I tried, Glossier Cloud Paints. It's way more travel friendly in wand form (Glossier Haze's tube gushed and leaked into my on-the-go makeup pouch, argh!) and I think blends better and more naturally.  What's funny is that I've purchased three Cloud Paints and I'd be happier spending that dough on just one Coco Rouge Lip Blush.

Chanel Coco Rouge Lip Blush in Orange Explosif is $30. I can see myself getting more of these, but Orange Explosif is by far the most attractive shade for my coloring to me. Available from Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, or directly from Chanel.
