Rescue Beauty Lounge Italian Summer Collection

Wednesday, August 6, 2014

Good morning!

We moved into our house last week but unfortunately our ISP won't be able to connect us for a while. So today I'm blogging from my neighborhood Starbucks. It's time for a new Rescue Beauty Lounge collection - Italian Summer, inspired by Ji's travels abroad. Without further ado, here's Ji thoughts on the collection.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Fan 3.0 Submissions

Thursday, July 24, 2014

Exciting news!

Submissions are now open for the Rescue Beauty Lounge Fan 3.0 Collection. Every two years, RBL’s Fan Collection comes out and is a great chance for ReBeLs to work with Ji and make their dream colors come true!

To qualify, fans should create a Pinterest board, curated with images inspired by the color they wish Ji to mix. Another option is to create a collage, or even a slideshow with photos and descriptions. The link for the Pinterest board/or collage along with a description should be sent to thefancollection3@rescuebeauty.com. For more details, see Ji’s blog post here.

Some of my favorite colors ever were from Fan Collections. Remember Fire Queen? Hands down one of my favorite colors in existence. I really hope that you guys will enter!

The 48-hour submission starts on Friday, July 25th at 12pm EST and ends 12pm EST on Sunday, July 27th.

 Good day, readers.

RBL NailsandNoms

Friday, May 2, 2014

 Hi folks,

This is the manicure that I've been wearing these past couple of days. I really was drawn to the warm carrot orange of Rescue Beauty Lounge NailsandNoms so I used that as my base color.

NailsandNoms is such a beautiful color, modeled after an even more brilliant blogger - Rie. I used four coats because it was a little bit sheer for a creme. NailsandNoms is so unique, it's filled with beautiful blue/purple/fuchsia-looking ultra fine shimmer.

I then taped the design using nail striping tape and used American Apparel Cotton as my accent color.

Rescue Beauty Lounge shades are available here.

Have a great night! I'm not sure if I'll be blogging this weekend. The mister has half a mind for us to go camping. In the snow (but... but why? Madness, I tell you).

Happy New Year!

2013 has been quite a year for me, filled with great joy, profound euphoria and yet terrible sorrow. I look forward to the new year with eagerness and wish you all good health, exceptional prosperity and all the happiness in the world.

Let's end the year with great beauty, shall we? I hope you enjoy the following Rescue Beauty Lounge swatches.

Be Humble. Soft dusty ;lavender creme with a faint blue sheen and delicate shimmer. Instantly one of my top favorite work appropriate colors.

Abi. Two coats. The color of the outer fruit of a perfectly ripe avocado, tinged with silver shimmer.

Become One. Two coats. Bright grass green creme.

Piu Mosso. Inky indigo with fine copper shimmer, two coats. Shimmer is more prominent in the bottle than on the nail. Stupendously beautiful though.

Kellie Gonzo. Three coats. Bright, cheery with a tiny bit of squish. Made complete with golden sparkle.

Fire Queen. Three coats. Milky Jadeite, absolutely perfect color. Be sure to let each coat dry before the next. Absolutely must have color, nothing remotely close in my collection.

All six shades were incredible and unique, even among my hoard of polishes. Stunning.

I seem to have misplaced a few swatches, so I'll finish with a part two post tomorrow!
