Happy New Year!

2013 has been quite a year for me, filled with great joy, profound euphoria and yet terrible sorrow. I look forward to the new year with eagerness and wish you all good health, exceptional prosperity and all the happiness in the world.

Let's end the year with great beauty, shall we? I hope you enjoy the following Rescue Beauty Lounge swatches.

Be Humble. Soft dusty ;lavender creme with a faint blue sheen and delicate shimmer. Instantly one of my top favorite work appropriate colors.

Abi. Two coats. The color of the outer fruit of a perfectly ripe avocado, tinged with silver shimmer.

Become One. Two coats. Bright grass green creme.

Piu Mosso. Inky indigo with fine copper shimmer, two coats. Shimmer is more prominent in the bottle than on the nail. Stupendously beautiful though.

Kellie Gonzo. Three coats. Bright, cheery with a tiny bit of squish. Made complete with golden sparkle.

Fire Queen. Three coats. Milky Jadeite, absolutely perfect color. Be sure to let each coat dry before the next. Absolutely must have color, nothing remotely close in my collection.

All six shades were incredible and unique, even among my hoard of polishes. Stunning.

PolishTBH Sorcerer's Stone. Two coats. A red jelly thermal that turns black when cool.

Takko Lacquer Wanderlust. Three coats. Gorgeous color shifting color, kinda weird formula. doesn't level very well no matter how much I thin it. Gift from my friend Anneke of Pinpoint Polish.

A-England Briarwood. Another gift from Anneke, actually! A gorgeous shimmery burgundy scattered holo. Two coats.

China Glaze Be Merry, Be Bright over China Glaze Traffic Jam. Clear glitter topper from the upcoming Holiday 2013 Collection. Found it at a local beauty supply a couple weeks ago.

Kiko 399, two coats. Glorious holo! LE, probably HTF now.

Serum No. 5 As A Matte 'A Fact. Two coats over OPI Roadhouse Blues.

Wicked Polish Hung Over the Rainbow. One coat over white creme. A clear topper with these gorgeous translucent glitters.

Polished by KPT Siren's Song. An exclusive for Rainbow Connection in the UK. Two coats of this thermal scattered holo with glitter. Light blue/Clear when warm, teal when cool.

Hi folks!

So my posting for the next week might be a bit sporadic and nail focused since I'll be away attending CosmoProf North America in Las Vegas! I'm so excited, you have no idea. I cobbled together some posts but realized a bit too late that most of my unpublished folder consisted of nail related stuff. Hope you don't mind! To make up for it, there will also be a few giveaways in the next few weeks, even one starting while I'm away. I'll be back before you know it with pictures of makeup.

Today I have some indie polish nail spam. Some of my indies were photographed with my old camera so I've been slowly reswatching them. I also just have some random polishes that are mainstream. Enjoy!

Happy Hands Feliz Navidad, three coats. This is a great shade, but not so great formula. Rather lumpy in application. Luckily it is being reformulated and released again as a part of a "Christmas in July" thing this month. Given to me by my friend Felice!

My friend Deborah snagged me Catrice Dirty Berry before it was discontinued. A pale lilac leaning periwinkle scattered holo, three coats.

My favorite holiday is Halloween and I honestly wish I could wear Halloween polishes every day. This is one coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Bitches Brew over Essie Luxedo.

Three coats, I think... of Catrice Oh My Goldness! Just really bright and eye catching, even if the shade isn't quite your cup of tea.

Catrice Queen of Greens. I have no idea how many coats, to be honest. A medium, almost kelly green creme with fine shimmer.

China Glaze Strap On Your Moonboots. Two coats. Really not forgiving holo that is "meh" in terms of holo effect. I had to buff my nails down and still it looked funny because of my ridges. Also don't dig the slight metallic look.

Hot Mess Lacquer Across the Trailer Park. This was the best DL ATU dupe until that Sally Hansen came out this year. Three coats.

One of my all time favorite polishes- Nail Pattern Boldness Flipping Out Hard. Two coats over American Apparel Malibu Green.

I thought I had more spam pictures. I guess not, hah!

Hi folks, I hope you're enjoying your weekend! I myself am off to the beach with Morgan and family. If it seems like every weekend I'm off somewhere, well... it's because I am. I'm so happy that I've really been able to spend my weekends exploring California.

I've done spam by color and finish, but not yet brand so today's nail spam is all OPI. I used to buy quite a bit of OPI when I still shopped at pro stores, but in recent years have not collected very many. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the spam!

OPI Stay The Night. Three coats. From the Mariah Carey Collection, the first of this kind of texture to hit the market. Dry time is sort of slow, and when fully dry the finish is not as gritty as I would like. I prefer this with topcoat.

OPI My Private Jet. Three coats. I have the brown non-holo version. I know it's not as spectacular, but I think it is pretty in its own right. Brown and sort of opalescent with chunky silver holo micro glitter.

OPI Black Cherry Chutney. Three coats. Blackened wine shimmer. 99% of the time, this looks pretty much black to me. Only when you hold it up to a super bright light do the edges of the nail look slightly reddish. For the longest time I put off buying Every Month is Oktoberfest because I thought it would look like this (good thing it doesnt!)

OPI Russian Navy Suede. Two coats. Ahh, Suedes! So gorgeous. You have to apply these quickly because they dry really fast (and on some people tend to chip pretty fast) but I think they are so worth it.

OPI Roadhouse Blues. Three coats, I think. Don't quote me on that. Gorgeous dark indigo. I bought this because it's pretty close in color to OPI Sapphire In the Snow which I don't own and can't really find. See LaquerWear's comparison.

OPI Chopstick-ing To My Story. Three coats. The Hong Kong Collection was from spring of '10. My photo makes it look bolder and more saturated than it actually is. Actually, if you google this shade it's hard to find a picture that accurately shows how murky and faded this burnt orange creme is. Trust me on this one? I still really love it, it's a 'pretty ugly' shade to me.

OPI Guy Meets Gal-veston. Three coats. What did they call this finish again? Sorbet? Something like that. A lovely punchy jelly.

OPI DS Mystery. Three coats. This polish used to really disappointment because of how little those golden flecks actually showed up on the nail. In time, my annoyance has subsided and I now sort of like this polish. Sort of.

OPI Tease-y Does It. Three coats. From the 2010 Holiday Burlesque Collection. This is one of my all time favorite polishes! When it first came out, I thought I could pass on it. I don't know what I was thinking. I spent the first few months in 2011 trying to track it down, it was sold out in most the beauty supplies I checked. Finally I snagged it at CosmoProf on clearance! A purple-y brownish base with really nice wine flecks that shift a little in color.

Purple Polish Spam

I was in a mood to swatch yesterday, so swatch I did. Some of these were untrieds while others were polishes I just had not worn in a while.

Color Club Mystery. Blurple polish, crammed full of magenta sparks. Very pretty and vibrant. Three coats.

Essence Oh My Glitter! Three coats. Perfect light purple with chunky pink shimmer. Three coats. Rumor has it that this polish is being discontinued!

China Glaze Flying Dragon. Three coats. For some reason, this popular neon really did not get along with my base coat of Barielle Nail Rebuilding Protein. It... moved like crackle, in chunks. Weird right? Shown with two coats of topcoat.

American Apparel L'Esprit. Two coats, but you could get away with just one. Great creme formula, so rich and opaque yet streak free.

Spoiled Are Mermaids Real? Three coats. Squishy purple with gold flecks. So pretty.

Technically not a purple but one side of this duo is tinted purple. Essence Colour3 Duo in Midnight Date. Two coats of the dark blue Midnight Date side. Rich, slightly color shifting blue/indigo.

Same color as above, only topped off with the purple tinted City That Never Sleeps side. Sheer (very) purple with green flakes and shimmer.

One of the old Essence polishes. Where's The Party? Two coats. Wonderful duochrome, such a rich formula that doesn't look streaky or sheer.

Wet'n'Wild On A Trip. Great color and formula, three coats. Raggedy ass brush that greatly hinders application though.

LA Girl Rockstar Groupie. Wonderful, wonderful purple. I can't even describe how beautiful this is. Bright purple jam packed with flecks (similar to OPI Ink, but way more intense) that shift from blue to purple to even magenta. Absolutely stunning, three coats.

LA Girl Disco Brites in Hustle. Three coats, very pretty purple that leans blue.

Love & Beauty polish simple called Purple. Leans magenta. Three coats.

Wet'n'Wild Back Alley Deals. One coat over the previous shade of Love & Beauty Purple. One of my favorite glitters.

There's absolutely no theme to this spam. It's just a bunch of polish pictures that I found laying around. Some are older pics so the photo editing may suck. Enjoy!

OPI Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees Suede. My first matte polish. I still adore as much as the day I first put it on.

Color Club Port-Folio. A really cool looking purple polish with green shimmer throughout. Looks duochrome-ish.

OPI Chop-Sticking To My Story. I really dig this burnt orange creme, I'm not sure why. I really want to use it in some nail art soon but have been really busy lately.

Cosmo Corono Por Favor. Gross but unique color, smells like death, hilarious name, some weird brand I found in a small nail shop. Awesome.

Ulta Lav-ish. I love this sort of color so it shouldn't come as a surprise that I'm head over heels with this shade.

Catrice Oh My Goldness! From a German blogger friend ^_^ A great swap, it reminds me of that golden shade from the OPI Bond collection. Only more intense and darker gold, I feel.

OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest. I didn't get the hype when this polish first came out. Oh, it's just another dark vampy red shimmer that glows. Wrong, you guys were totally right, the blue base really gives this polish dimension on the nails it's so pretty! So happy that I ended up buying it after all.
