Sephora Formula X Liberty

Friday, July 4, 2014

I have a confession. I really love patriotic manicures. A lot. A ton. I started thinking about 4th of July polishes like two months ago, back when I bought one of Sephora's new Formula X polishes called Liberty. It's a topper that consists of red, white and blue matte glitters. In other words, it screams "HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA."

I really wanted to make sure that the colors popped, so I wore it over a black base. I added a matte top coat which gave it a more graphic look.

Now if you take a closer look at the bottle, you'll notice that the red glitter has bled a tiny bit. Not a lot; the white glitter doesn't look pink by any means, but it is worth noting.

You'll have to forgive me for those bubbles that show a bit under the matte coat. The heat forces me to have fans going constantly.

At $12.50, I think that the Sephora Formula X polishes are pretty great, especially their indie-esque glitters. I've actually picked up three others that I have to show you at some point.

I think there's a Sally Hansen dupe of this out there, in a LE display. I honestly couldn't tell you any more about it, I haven't wandered over to the beauty section of a drugstore in pretty much ages - sorry!

Have you tried any of the Sephora Formula X polishes? What did you think of the line?

Happy 4th of July, fellow American friends! (Happy weekend, international pals.)
