Charlotte Tilbury The Dolce Vita Luxury Palette

Saturday, December 31, 2016

Good morning!  Today I wanted to show you something I picked up recently while out shopping with a friend- The Dolce Vita Luxury Palette by Charlotte Tilbury. My inner magpie was immediately drawn to the bronzey, sparkly shade and I thought it would make a lovely look for New Year's Eve.

Kevyn Aucoin The Contour Duo

Tuesday, December 27, 2016
Good afternoon! One of the newer makeup items that I bought recently was this Kevyn Aucoin The Contour Duo, which is available only from Sephora. It contains two shades of very popular KA powders - The Celestial Powder and The Sculpting Powder.

Makeup Travel Bag - Winter Edition

Saturday, December 24, 2016

Merry Christmas! Happy Hanukkah! (belated) Happy Winter Solstice!

I hope that if you're celebrating, you're surrounded by the love of family and friends! I myself have kicked off a three week long vacation, city hopping around. I thought I'd show you some of the stuff that I packed since the last time I showed you what was going into my travel bag, I was headed somewhere tropical. This time around, we're headed for colder climates  so I have very different skincare and makeup needs.

Chikuhodo Takumi T-8 and T-9 Brushes

Thursday, December 22, 2016

I've been blogging for so long (7th bloggaversary crept past me last month, how crazy is that) that a clear pattern of my shopping habits has emerged. Every year without fail, I go through an indie eye shadow phase, I vow to start (and subsequently abandon) a serum with Vitamin C, and I buy some handcrafted brushes. I'm a little ahead of schedule this year, having already splurged a bit on brushes well before the new year.

Review: Missha Super Aqua Ultra Water-Full Cream & Control Emulsion

Tuesday, November 29, 2016

Good evening! Missha US still has a 40% sale through 11/30 so I thought I would try to get my review of a couple of Missha Super Aqua products out in case you wanted to take advantage of the lowered prices (as though you need yet another sale to look at 😉). I had picked up the Super Aqua Ultra Water-Full Cream and Ultra Water-Full Control Emulsion the last time Missha had such a massive sale and have used both products for months.

Review: [innisfree] No-Sebum Mineral Powder and Blur Primer

Sunday, November 27, 2016

For the great part of the last year, I actually considered the oil production on my face to be at an all time low. I rarely found myself blotting ( it took me over a year and a half to finish a packet of Tatcha blotting papers) or even bringing along pressed powder in my purse. However in the last few months there's been an ongoing out-of-control sebum party going in my tzone and I find myself needing more products to keep myself from looking greasy, because you can't call the cops on your androgens.

50 Words or Less, Vol. VIII: More Fall Empties

Monday, November 21, 2016
Recently I was talking to my pal Kate about this series; where I talk about products that I was either lukewarm about or just did not find super interesting, and it tickled me to find that these that I find really hard to write are well received.

One Heck Of A Workhorse: Viseart 01 Neutral Matte Palette

Monday, November 7, 2016

Hey, remember how I'm on the lookout for a matte palette since I dropped my custom palette and shattered a lot of my neutral pans? I ordered Viseart Neutral Matte Palette 01 after much hemming and hawing.

Review: Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Crush

Wednesday, October 12, 2016

So I've been in the market for a pinky nude matte liquid lipstick the past few months. I tried quite a few that didn't fit the bill - [CLIO] Chesire (review here) Chanel Rouge Allure Ink in Amoureux quickly turned orange on me and Clinique Pop Liquid Matte in Cake Pop.... well, it never dried and was still glossy like a sticky lipgloss a half an hour later (see below). I swatched a few shades at the department store and ended up bringing home Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstck in Crush

COSRX Ultimate Moisturizing Honey Overnight Mask

Saturday, October 8, 2016

Good morning!

I've recently implemented some new products into my routine (patiently patch testing and phasing them in is pure agony) and have found a few winners who have earned their place at my sink. Today I want to gush about my first product from COSRX, the Ultimate Moisturizing Honey Overnight Mask.

Review: Visee Glossy Rich Eyes PK 3

Saturday, October 1, 2016

Good afternoon!

Last post was about a product that was a let down, but luckily this post is about something I liked a lot! I bought this last year and finally cracked it open over the summer because reasons.  Visee is another Kose brand, and thus far I've liked almost every Kose thing I've tried (Speedy! And KATE!). The color I chose was PK 3, a quad featuring a glistening snow color, a light peach, a deep garnet and a sparkling brown.

Edward Bess Prismette Sun and Stars is OK, I Guess

Friday, September 23, 2016

I recently had some online credit that was about to expire and with no better alternative, my eye gravitated towards this Edwards Bess quad. 'Sun and Stars' looked like it had potential to be a great travel/office friendly set of colors.

Diptyque Oud Palao Eau de Parfum

Monday, September 12, 2016

Good afternoon!

I'm currently procrastinating a bit, which makes it the perfect time to tell you about a fragrance that I've been wearing a lot lately.  First purchased very late last year, it was a new offering by Diptyque to the line of EdPs.  My feelings for woody, incense-y Diptyque EdPs are rather intense and as timing would have it, I had recently finished a decant of Tom Ford Oud Wood. So the scene for a blind oud perfume buy was perfectly set.

50 Words or Less, VII: Visit The Skincare Graveyard & Some Empties

Friday, September 9, 2016
 Good afternoon!

Today's post is an installment of 50 Words or Less, a series where I lump together products that I didn't think deserved their own individual post. A lot of skincare, some things that I liked to the last drop and some stuff that just didn't work for me.

[CLIO] Virgin Kiss Sillkuid Lip in Cheshire

Wednesday, August 24, 2016

Another one of my recent acquisitions by CLIO was one of the new Silkuid Lips, the new matte additions to the Virgin Kiss line of lip products. I ordered completely blind, as there were very few swatches of this product at all. What I had hoped for was a liquid MLBB lipstick that was matte and long lasting.

Mask Madness; Vol. I: Missha, O'Liye, My Beauty Diary, Innisfree, & My Scheming

Tuesday, August 23, 2016

The title says it all. I've been indulging in sheet masks like crazy lately, taking any opportunity to pop one on.

Weathered skin after a weekend of camping? Mask.
Dry skin from the heat? Mask.
Dull skin before a big night out? Mask.
Ran out of lasagna on a Monday? Mask.

There's a mask for that.

Two Stick Concealers Compared: [CLIO] Kill Cover Pro Artist vs Kanebo KATE

Tuesday, August 16, 2016

I realized last week that I only seem to buy concealers in certain forms. Squeeze tubes and stick are my favorite, followed by pan - as long as it has a screw on top. When was the last time I bought an open compact or liquid doe footed wand tube? No idea. Today I have two stick concealers from Asian brands to show you. [CLIO] Kill Cover Pro Artist Stick Concealer and Kanebo KATE Stick Concealer.

Review, Swatches, Looks: Sugarpill Sparkle Baby Palette

Sunday, August 14, 2016
I was recently reading the blog Portrait of Mai and she mentioned that the Sugarpill Cold Chemistry and Sparkle Baby palettes were being dc'd.

Wait.

Sparkle Baby. I have that. I never reviewed that. *sheepish grin* Today is as good of a day as any!

Review: Hada Labo Gokujyun Premium Hyaluronic Acid Lotion

Wednesday, August 10, 2016

I love hyaluronic acid lotions (or toners), I really do. For skin that dehydrates easily, HA lotions feel so nice as they help your skin plump and hold moisture. A long time ago (3 years!) I reviewed the "original" Gokujyun (Super) Moist Lotion and compared it to the JUJU Aquamoist Lotion (read that here). In addition to the regular Moist, there are now several versions of the Hada Labo HA lotion, including Light and Alpha (retinol).  When I ran out of my last lotion and found out that Hada Labo released a Premium version last year with FIVE forms of hyaluronic acid, well, I was very excited. Five, guys. Five!

Review, Swatches, Looks: LORAC PRO 3 Palette

Friday, July 29, 2016

Hello!

It's been far too long. I'll tell you what I was up to some other time, today I want to show you the LORAC PRO 3 Palette. You see, a couple months ago I dropped a self made MAC 15 shadow palette filled with some of my favorite matte highlight, neutrals and transitional shades (this is not the first time, why do I keep bringing makeup into rooms with hard flooring?!) and shattered many of the shades. When I heard soon after that LORAC was coming out with a new palette, I thought that the 3 would go a long way towards replacing some of those destroyed shades.
