Best Bite Remix Set - Review & Swatches

Thursday, October 23, 2014

Hello!

I've been fighting some dreadful nausea all week so this is the first day in a while I've been upright without feeling queasy. Luckily for me, this little indulgence arrived today - the Best Bite Remix set. Can you believe it's been six months since I bought any makeup? I didn't intentionally start a no-buy, but I just went with it. When I saw this set on Sephora I thought, "treat yo self", a la Tom & Donna.

If you remember, two years ago I bought a similar little Bite discovery set and that quintet of mini lipsticks always accompanied me on trips. There was a color for every occasion and the small mirrored tin was not only handy, it protected the lipsticks from any amount of jumbling around. This set is similar but instead of the Luminous Creme formula, this set features four deluxe sized High Pigment Pencils.
This set is $25 and contains 4x .05 oz. High Pigment Pencils. A full sized pencil is $24 and contains .09 oz. of product, so I find it to be a pretty great value. I'll also be honest, I can't remember the last time I finished a lipstick so I'd rather have a variety of colors instead of bigger products.

Left to right: Sablé, Rhubarb, Winterberry and Pomegranate.

Sablé (limited edition) is a pinky nude. Rhubarb is a raisin-rose with slightly brown undertones. Winterberry is a new shade, a bright dark raspberry. Pomegranate (which I already know and love) is a neutral but blazing red shade.

There is a slight sheen to these lipsticks but with a light blot, they look matte. The pigmentation is really quite exceptional, especially with the two darker colors. There's the perfect amount of slip without feeling greasy and as always, I'm happy that Bite Beauty lip products do not have a distinguishable fragrance.

Sablé.

Rhubarb.

Winterberry.

Pomegranate.

I've already harassed many of my friends to buy this set because I just knew they would appreciate this set as much as me. The colors are great, the formula is wonderful and the price point makes it a great little treat. While the previous little set of Luminous Creme lipsticks was more neutral, I like that half the colors in this set are vivid.

So if you're in the mood to treat yourself with a little somethin' somethin' or perhaps you're thinking ahead to holiday gift giving, I would highly recommend the Best Bite Remix set from Sephora

Did you pick up the previous set or this one? What do you think of Bite's lip formulas?
