Manyo Factory Midnight Regenerating Cream

Saturday, January 20, 2018
A new Manyo Factory product came out last fall and I very eagerly used a shipping service to obtain it (click here for my review of KoreanBuddy). With 'Regnerating' in the name and a Tardis blue tube, you'd expect a whole new face, a la Time Lord.

While this cream didn't regenerate a new visage for me, I did find it to be another excellent product made by Manyo Factory. This cream promised intense hydration and restoration, two claims I was eager to test.

Midnight Regenerating Cream has an extensive list of drool worthy ingredients. Just having one or two of these components would pique my interest, but altogether? I was bowled over.

Ingredients:
Fuscoporia Obliqua Mycelia Ferment Extract, Phellinus Linteus (Mushroom) Ferment Filtrate, Phellinus Linteus Extract, Glycerin, Glycerol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetostearyl Alcohol, Propanediol, Isoamyl Laurate, Sorbitan Olivate, Cetearyl Olivate, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Squalene, Sorbitol, Niacinamide, Nicotinamide, Nicotinic Acid Amide, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Red Ginseng Extract, Ginsenosides, Paecilomyces Japonica/Saussurea Involucrata Ferment Extract Filtrate, Tuber Melanosporum Extract, Laetiporus Sulphureus Mycelium Extract, Bacillus/Soybean Ferment Extract, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Butylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Hydrogenated Olive Oil Unsaponifiables, Olive oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Hydrolyzed Avocado Protein, Maltodextrin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Cetyl Palmitate, Sorbitan Palmitate, Plukenetia Volubilis Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Punica Granatum Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Withania Somnifera Flower Extract, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Extract, Malpighia Glabra (Acerola) Fruit Extract, Myrciaria Dubia Seed Extract, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Fruit Extract, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Fruit Extract, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract, Amber Extract, Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Extract, Terminalia Chebula Fruit Extract, Phytosqualane, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Zanthoxylum Piperitum Fruit Extract, Pulsatilla Koreana Extract, Usnea Barbata (Lichen) Extract, Water, Propanediol Dicaprylate, Pullulan, Sclerotium Gum, Linum Usitatissimum (Linseed) Seed Oil, Glyceryl Caprylate, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Adenosine
Fuscoporia Obliqua is better known as chaga mushroom. I've highlighted some of the ingredients that my skin responds well to, my face loves mushrooms and mushroom ferments! I've found that mushroom ingredients impart a very velvety, plump feel to my skin. The last half of the ingredients reads like a juicing recipe, quite a number of fruits and vegetable extracts. I believe the carrot seed extract is the source of the retinol.

I use about half a pea size on my face at night. There's a very faint bitter herb scent, but it's nearly indiscernible. The cream sinks in quickly without any sort of residual feel and it feels absolutely wonderful. My face feels like it takes on half a cup of moisture with just a little dab of the stuff. I think it definitely lives up to the claim of hydrating and restoring your skin to its best self.  This product feels as though the Manyo Factory Special Treatment Essence cream and the Lacto Bifida Mist had a baby. Very hydrating, not so much occlusive but velvety soft.

At first I was rather put off by the size of this cream, it's a mere 30ml. I thought that I would finish it in no time at all but it's been nearly three months and I'm still on my first tube. I use this regularly, at least 4-5 times a week. Maybe the tube is bigger on the inside.

I mentioned on Instagram that if it were on sale, I'd repurchase and I stand by that. I bought my two tubes of this cream in bundles, so each ended up being $15 or so. I thought that was a fantastic value,  anything under $20 would be acceptable to me. Full retail ($32 from the Manyo Factory site) doesn't sit so well with me. SweetCorea has the Midnight Regenerating Cream for $17 and change, but their shipping rates have really jumped up in the last year. MelodyCosme is my favorite US stockiest of this brand and has it for $32, I have a link for $10 off of $50 orders (reward link, I get $10 in store points).
