Good evening!

I'm not going to lie. All I want to do is Halloween manicures. I'm trying to hold back a bit because people would get a bit tired of daily posts of Halloween nails! I'll ease into a mood with a orange glitter for starters, how about that? Today I used Shimmer Trisha.

Trisha is predominately orange and gold, accented with smaller blue and purple glitter.

I did a glitter gradient over black creme, and also used American Apparel Lopez Canyon to add dots (and then dotted more Tricia over that).

I really love this glitter because it's orange. But not just a monotonous orange glitter. The little bit of blue and purple that peak out at you really brings the whole polish together. I think this one might be my favorite out of all the Shimmer Polishes I've featured so far (then again, I seem think every Shimmer is my favorite when I'm holding it in my hand. I'm a glitter magpie!).

Hi!

So far I've been posting pictures from my huge backlog but today I thought I'd show you growing little nubs. I'm pretty lucky in that my nails have always grown really fast (but not always strong growth, unfortunately!), maybe 0.75 to 1.50 mm a week depending on my diet, stress, etc.

Kate is a surprise favorite of mine. The tiniest coppery brown, green and teal glitter mix, super dense. I'm wearing just two coats by itself (and a dab extra on my pinky). I tried to take pictures outdoors under the sun so you could see the way the light plays off of these dazzling little particles but alas, it was just TOO sparkly.

Also, working on a new temporary hand pose (trying to channel one of my idols, Sam of Fashion Polish! Don't know how she does it, this still isn't like hers and it is hard.) because my shorter nails looked odd with my regular hand pose.

Katie applied easily like the other Shimmer Polishes that I've reviewed so far; smooth and drying relatively flat. Only one coat of topcoat on top.

Hi folks,

It's been a while since my last Shimmer Polish post because of CosmoProf North America but I'm glad to be posting about one today. Today I'm featuring Shimmer Karen.

Karen is mixture of different metallic purple and holo glitters. One of my favorite ways to wear silvery glitter is with a matte top coat, so that's precisely what I did. I only needed one coat when wearing it as a topper because Shimmer Polishes are just so dense with glitter. Here, I have Bettina Viola underneath.

Good evening!

Today I have another beautiful Shimmer Polish to show you, as a part of my weekly installment of Shimmer Polish swatches! I've tried to do something other than a straight forward swatch to show you how great Shimmer Polishes are for glitter gradients, layering, etc.

Kim is made up of medium blue metallic hexes, small purple, silver holo, lighter blue glitter and unless my eyes deceive me, micro fine glitter. Like other Shimmer Polishes, the glitter is superbly dense which makes it great for what I did today, dabbed onto nail closest to the cuticle as an accent. I used a makeup sponge to absorb the base and place the glitters with relative ease.

Again, really smooth flowing base with great glitter density. I wore it on top of China Glaze Hook and Line, from the Colors From the Capitol Collection. I was looking for a color that would make the glitter pop but figured that I did glitter on black a little too often!

Shimmer Lorene (What a Beauty!)

Second post of the day!

This is another one of the Shimmer Polishes that I had the opportunity to swatch and review. Lorene is a really pretty mix of glitter, the predominate glitter color being cranberry.

I don't have enough fingers to count how many different kinds of glitter there are but I at least see copper and gold hexes, small teal and tiny square holographic pieces.

This polish gets more and more beautiful everytime you look at it. To say it's an acquired taste sounds sort of insulting because it is nothing like stinky cheese. It's more like this:

First glance: Oh, cranberry glitter mix. Neat.

Second glance: Wow. A lot of those colored glitter pieces look really pretty and opalescent at different angles.

Third glance: The complexity is mind blowing. All those shades, all at the same time. What beautiful mind put them all together?!

Fourth glance: (Nirvana is achieved. Use of words is no longer necessary)

Stunning, right?

Shimmer Jennifer

I'm still at the beach, but wanted to show you Shimmer Jennifer while I was gone! Out of all the Shimmer Polish shades I was sent, this is definitely one of my favorites. It is crazy busy with all sorts of lighter hued glitter, but what really stands out to me are the orange hexes and iridescent yellow/green/blue. Other colors of glitter include soft teal and pink.

Again, as with all Shimmer Polishes, wonderfully dense glitter but in a very fluid base. I used it on my ring finger as a accent (with topcoat) and sponged some on top of black, then used a matte top coat. The glitters look really pastel and pretty when matte!

Pretty, right?

Hi folks! I have 12 gorgeous Shimmer polishes to show you but I wanted to do a separate post for each one to do them justice. Shimmer Polish is known for super complex combinations of smaller glitter, each bottle being super dense in glitter. I've tried all 12 that I was sent and let me tell you, every single one is completely opaque in 2 or 3 coats. Today I'd like to show off Eva.

Eva is a burgundy tinted base with red, burgundy and a bit of silver glitter. The size of the glitter is micro fine so just sparkles magnificently. I used three coats by itself here. It dried a tiny bit bumpy so I used one coat Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food to smooth it over followed by one coat of fast dry top coat.

Beautiful, no? I'm usually the kind of gal who loves bigger piece of glitter but these glitterbombs really grew on me. I fell in love with the super dense sparkle.
