Blush Breakdown Vol. I: Peachy Pink With Gold Shimmer

Saturday, July 7, 2012

Did you know that recently I did some major purging? Yes, it's true! My sister suddenly became the proud owner of about a ba-jillion pieces of new makeup. I reduced my blushes from 38 down to less than 25! So now I'm going to chronicle what I'm left with.

This is the first volume- pink with gold shimmer. Some of these photograph peachy because of the gold flash.
In the above picture, they are (clockwise from left to right) LORAC Multi Platinum Palette, Rock & Republic Call Me, LORAC Miss Davenporte Showstopper Palette and NARS Deep Throat.

So I didn't realize it at the time, but the two blushes from the LORAC palette are the one and the same- it's both a shade called Couture! Silly me, I had a double and I didn't even know it.

The main difference between these blushes is the amount of gold shimmer. LORAC Couture has quite a bit more than NARS Deep Throat making it look lighter and falsely peachier, but they are otherwise the same shade. Rock & Republic Call Me is tad darker pink than the others though.

In this FOTD, I'm wearing the gorgeous Rock & Republic Call Me as well as:

Brows: NARS Bali shadow
Eyes: e.l.f. Eyelid Primer, NARS Habenara (purple side), NARS Tokyo (matte black side)
Face: MUFE Full Cover Concealer, MUFE HD mixed with Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk, Rock & Republic Call Me
Lips: Dior Addict High Shine #566 Taffetas

I'll be honest. When I wear these blushes, they pretty much look the same. If I had to pick just one to keep, I would definitely pick Rock & Republic Call Me because the quality is just superior to the others. However, since the LORAC blush is in the palettes, I'm kind of stuck with them. At least it is convenient for travel!

By the way, every time I bring up "Call Me" I really want to add in a "Maybe". Thanks, Carly Rae Jepsen.

What's your favorite peachy-pink blush? Is it one of the more famous ones out there like NARS Orgasm (or its clones such as Cargo Rome, Milani Luminous etc)?
