Catrice LE Neo Geisha Planet Tokyo

Wednesday, March 13, 2013
I've made the coolest friends blogging. One of the is the wonderful, kind Deborah from Love, Varnish, Chocolate & More... You know what she recently sent me? Some lovely Catrice products including this shadow from the limited edition Neo Geisha Collection. I'm feel so lucky because I finally get to try out makeup from this brand that I always lust after from my favorite European blogs.

Planet Tokyo is a medium kelly green in a matte formula. Isn't the imprint really pretty? I almost didn't want to dip my brush into into the pan because I wanted to keep it intact. I really like Catrice packaging, the minimalistic yet practical (no space for an applicator! Hooray!) clear look really reminds me of Shu Uemura.

This shadow is incredibly finely milled, so wonderfully soft. The pigmentation is good, but not superb and it tends to look a bit lighter in color on the skin than in the pan. A primer is definitely needed and the shadow looks most intense when patted onto primer when it is still a little damp. Still, the color is really beautiful. I can't get enough of green shadows, particularly matte shades that are harder to find. Especially drugstore green mattes. They're almost non existent. The only other one I can think of is the jade color in the Wet'n'Wild I Heart Matte Palette.

I really wanted to do an intense green look. Go big or go home right? I used Catrice Planet Tokyo all over the lid but used a darker green to add depth in the crease and a lime green to do the inner corner.

I used:
Brows: NARS Bali (not pictured), NYX Brow Shaper
Eyes: NYX HD Eye Shadow Base, La Femme Eyeliner Sealer, Calvin Klein Night Dust, Inglot M318 and M333, NARS Rated R, Milani Grandissimo Mascara, AFTER A7 false lashes*

Basically what I'm saying is that if you love greens like I do and have access to Catrice, I'd snatch up this lovely LE color. It's very, very gorgeous and I'm so thankful to Deborah!
