New Revlon Lip Butter Shades

Thursday, April 4, 2013

I was really quite pleased with myself yesterday when I managed to use five coupons and ExtraBucks at CVS all at once, which meant that I brought home quite a few products for $10. (If you are curious, I ended up with an Essie polish, CLEAR Damage & Color Repair Conditioner, two bottles of NYC polish for $10 and change. I'm getting pretty good at couponing, if I do say so myself.) Since a single Revlon Lip Butter goes for $8.29 at my CVS, I patted myself on the back the whole way home. I've reviewed these Lip Butters in the past, so today's post is mostly just pictures.

These are two of the new shades, I found them in a new display but I believe that they are permanent shades. Wild Watermelon is a bright red-pink while Juicy Papaya is a sheer peach.

Here's my lips with just clear lip balm.

This is Juicy Papaya.

Finally, Wild Watermelon. I think that in person it is even brighter and more intense.

The funny thing is that Wild Watermelon looks warm, almost dark coral in the tube but swatches cooler on my skin and lips, definitely closer to the color of the Lip Butter tube covering. Juicy Papaya is quite sheer and very subtle on my lips.

From left to right: Creme Brulee, Juicy Papaya, Wild Watermelon, Candy Apple, Red Velvet.

I have five Revlon Lip Butters now, and I really like them. The pigmentation really varies with the shade, but I find them to be quite moisturizing and very balm like. I do have to say though, I need to stay away from the lighter shades. Either they don't really show up on me like in the case of Juicy Papaya or they emphasize all the dry skin and lines on my lips.

Have you seen these new Lip Butter shades?
