Glossybox Limited Edition - The Ultimate Holiday Gift

Wednesday, December 3, 2014

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen!

American friends, I hope you had a most spectacular Thanksgiving weekend. I was fortunate enough to spend a long weekend with my in-laws and hand more than my fill of turkey. Today, I'd like to show you the limited edition Glossybox Ultimate Holiday Gift box.

The special packaging is very festive! It really felt like a fantastic gift that arrived early when I opened the box.

Seven full sized makeup items and one deluxe sized perfume tucked inside. All this for only $40! I think that's quite a steal considering the caliber of the products.

Teadora Noursing Lip Butter. $15. Sweetly citrus scent, made from natural butters such as maracuja, acai and mango, the tub is pretty big for a lip balm but very lightweight. It tastes really nice too, as I keep accidentally licking my lips.

NCLA Satin Sheets, Velvet Ropes. $16.  A metallic red shimmer that matches the festive red of the Glossybox perfectly.

I'm wearing it here, two coats.

Korres Volcanic Minerals Volumizing Mascara. $20.

Cargo TexasLiner Liquid Liner. $20. It has a big felt tip, but the liner comes out inky black and very easy to use.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Color Concentrate in Smote. $14.

It's this shimmery bronzey-coppery-mauvey rose color? Very hard to describe. It's gleaming and just beautiful.

Jouer Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Wind. $20. This is my first time trying Jouer, I've heard a lot of nice things about the brand. The formula is not sticky at all and also unscented. It's a lighter pink color. (Swatches below next product)

Here, I'm wearing the OCC Color Concentrate in Smoke on the main part of the mobile lid, as well as Cargo TexasLiner. Jouer Wind on the lips.

Left: Jouer Wind. Right: The Lip Bar Crimson Wonderland

The Lip Bar Lipstick in Crimson Wonderland. $25. A bright, intense red. The packaging is little bulky (but very interesting looking) but the lipstick is just wonderful. High pigmentation plus a very emollient formula.

Same eye look, paired with The Lip Bar Crimson Wonderland.

A deluxe bottle of Calvin Klein Reveal. This is a pretty interesting scent, generally pleasing woody/powdery/lightly floral/lightly spicy with a salt kick to it.

I would have been mighty chuffed if someone had indeed gifted me this box for the holidays. It contained brands I already liked (like Korres, Cargo, NCLA and OCC) with brands I had wanted to try (Jouer) and products like the Teadora Lip Butter and the Calvin Klein perfume that I would have not necessarily picked for myself, but turned out to be rather enjoyable.

You can buy this box as a one time only purchase (no subscription needed) directly from Glossybox for merely $40.
