Rouge Bunny Rouge Unforgettable Oriole

Rouge Bunny Rouge was on HauteLook (affil link) a couple months back and I was absolutely thrilled to pieces because I had some account credit that was about to expire. I spent a good amount of time perusing swatches of the legendary eyeshadows of which I had been assured were legendary in formulation. It was this set of swatches that convinced me not to overlook the paler shades and I ended up picking up Unforgettable Oriole.

I think the abstract design on the case is supposed to be a bird. The beauty equivalent of a Rorschach test I suppose, because I'm not sure I see it. I love how small and sleek the compact is. The formula was excellent, it was extremely soft and buttery but really dense in the pan. Sweeping the brush across the surface picked up a nice amount of product without kick up loose dust.

Oh, how to explain the color? A light sparkly champagne nude. Over bare skin on the left, over eye primer on the right side.

This slightly angled shot shows you the rainbow sparkles. This is not your simple frosty nude, it boasts a whole range of large particle shimmer pieces. These two pictures are taken in bright direct sunlight.

In indirect lighting, Unforgettable Oriole is a softly glinting color that gives the eye quite a bit of dimension. I really liked using it as a wash all over my eyelid with a dusty color in the crease.

I'm also wearing:

Brows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Powder Duo in Granite
Eyes: Smashbox 24 Hour Photo Finish Shadow Primer, Rouge Bunny Rouge Unforgettable Oriole, MAC Concrete, Inglot Gel Eyeliner #77, Laura Mercier Vanilla Nuts
Face: Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation, Kevyn Aucoin Pure Powder Glow blush in Myracle
Lips: BECCA Beach Tint in Dragonfruit

At $25 per eyeshadow retail ($19 for refill pans), I think I'll definitely try to catch them on HauteLook. I can see how you can get hooked very easily on RBR!
