NARS Nouveau Monde Duo + FOTD

Thursday, October 13, 2011
A few months ago, my fairy godmother gave me a NARS duo. I appreciated it very much, I was going through a really rough time and I was truly touched by that gesture.
NARS Nouveau Monde was from the Spring 2011 collection. It has a gleaming lilac on one side and a rich earthy olive shimmer on the other. They both look rather flat and dimensionless in the brand new pan picture, but trust me they are not.
Bare skin on left, over primer on right. Outdoors, sunlight.

They are not super finely milled, but the large particle size is what gives it a different kind of sparkle from many other eyeshadows that I own. Though it may not be apparent form the pictures, the sparkle in the lilac half is quite silvery and cool. Pigmentation is decent, due to that hardened pan texture that a lot of NARS shadows have these days.
I used it in a FOTD today.
I think that I over blended a bit, and lost some of that fabulous sparkle. I'll have to watch out for that next time. Plus I think that in the future, I'll try the olive side as the main lid shade instead of vice versa. It's such a rich color, I want it to have a chance to really shine.

I used:
Brows: NARS Bali shadow
Eyes: LORAC Behind the Scenes Eye Primer, NARS Nouveau Monde duo, NARS All About Eve duo, Wet'n'Wild Creme liner, Rimmel Lycra Lash Extender.
Face: L'oreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base, Graftobian Hi-Def Creme Foundation, NARS Douceur blush, BECCA Fine Loose Finishing Powder.
Lips: BECCA Gisella Lipstick

Once again- thank you so much GB for that duo. You don't know what you mean to me. <3
